The University of Southern Mississippi’s Eagle Maker Hub is the first public makerspace available at a Mississippi university, providing access to tools for digital fabrication, rapid prototyping and coding.
The Eagle Maker Hub is one of only a few in the nation to focus on education and the only one that incorporates digital fabrication into content area instruction for future teachers.
At the Eagle Maker Hub, we are developing new ways to inspire learning in traditional subjects with the latest fabrication technology, and our goal is to place this technology in the hands of all students, their teachers and future teachers. At our makerspace, USM’s education students have unique opportunities to experience technology integration in the classroom and participate in authentic research.
We also encourage community engagement through open classes and individual or group prototyping consultations. Our doors are open to all students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
